There are differences in the role and responsibilities between Project Management Consultants and Design consultants for industrial projects. They make a mark on each industrial project differently. The goals, however, are the same- to ensure the successful completion of the project. Their roles and responsibilities also vary. 

What does Project Management Consultants for industrial projects do? 

Project Management Consultants use their knowledge, skills, and experience to manage the project. Many software tools facilitate the tracking of project milestones. Project management consultants are most effective when they are on board from the start of the project. Their team includes project managers, safety managers, engineers, quality and quantity surveyors etc.

Design consultants are technically skilled people who provide a workable design and create an industrial facility that integrates form, functionality, and aesthetics.  Additionally, the design consultants work on the framework provided by the client’s stakeholders and create an optimised design. Moreover, the design consultants ensure that the manufacturing facility is as per statutory compliances. The facility must be environmentally friendly. The team of design consultants include architects and consultants, conceptual design team, structural design team etc.

  2. Preparing an optimised design in line with the client’s requirements
  3. On-time design deliverables
  4. Preparing the specifications and BOQ
  5. Attending Pre-bid meetings
  6. Attending regular project meetings
  7. Replying to RFIs during the construction stage. 
  8. Visiting the site 
  9. As-Built Drawings preparation
